I'm Liza, an engineer by trade and artist by passion. Each piece is meticulously crafted by my hands, in my studio in Zurich.
Always having been drawn to the arts, I have had the pleasure of indulging in many different forms of art throughout the course of my life. Each of these passages and interludes have shaped the way I see the world and have refined my craft.
To me, jewelry in itself is an extension of our human being and a representation of who we are. It has the ability to carry memories and visions, moving somewhere inbetween the past, present and the future. But even jewelry that may outlive us can be returned to liquid to emerge in new forms. As it sits between the fleeting and the permanent, I have learned to appreciate the present moment more than ever when crafting my pieces. From the final design to the finishing polish, my otherwise busy mind finds ease in the meticulous task of creating a shape that feels complete, allowing me to pass on a piece of myself.
As we find ourselves in such fast-moving times, always striving for a new, better, and faster version of ourselves, I'd like to invite you to ravel in the beauty of daily chaos. Every day, I find inspiration in the perfectly imperfect compositions that life offers to those who take the time to look closely.
All of the jewelry you see is created using the lost-wax casting process. In this method, a wax model is first made for each piece which is then melted away to create room for the metal casting. As the wax model is lost during this process, each piece is entirely unique and cannot be replicated.
Even pieces that appear identical are individually made by hand and will vary slightly from one to another. Each step of the process, from initial creation to the final polish, adds a sense of humanness to the piece you hold in your hands. Any subtle unevenness or imperfection is a reminder that it was shaped by human hands and carries the mark of its maker.
